How To Fix Taskbar Icons Doesn’t Stack Up Problem In Windows 7

In Windows 7, the icons in the taskbar gets stacked up and you can access those icons by clicking on the up arrow on the taskbar as shown in the screen-shot below.

This is setting by default and is done to avoid cluttering of icons on the taskbar. But for some reason if your computer is displaying all the icons side by side instead of stacking as shown in screen-shot below, follow these steps to solve the problem:

1. Right-click on Taskbar and select “Properties”.

2. In “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” dialog box, click on “Customize” button in the “Notification area” section.

notification-area-customize 3. In the following dialog box, clear “Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar” box.

You are done. All the less used icons in the taskbar will be stacked up and you can now see an arrow to access them.
