How To Copy Folder Path From Address Bar In Windows 7 Explorer?

Windows 7 Explorer features a bread crumb navigation style browsing of files and folders similar to it’s predecessor Windows Vista. Windows XP users who switched to Windows 7 are likely to find that the address bar in Windows Explorer is quite different from what they have got used to.

Especially when they want to copy a folder’s path from address bar, they are likely to miss the good old Windows XP classic explorer. Though Windows 7 lets you copy the path of a file or folder from the right click context menu, this method copies file path to the clipboard with double quotes included around it.

On the other hand, when you copy from Windows Explorer address bar, only the path (no double quotes are included) is copied to the clipboard. Here is a small trick to do this:

Click on the ‘Down’ arrow present at the right side of Windows Explorer address bar. The bread crumb navigation now changes to classic XP style. You can now press CTRL+C to copy the path to clipboard.
