Consider a scenario where you plug-in audio device to HDMI output of your Windows 7 based computer and enjoy it’s music. The next time you restart Windows 7 with the audio device plugged into the port, you cannot hear any sound. Also in ‘Sound’ window, the status of the audio device is displayed as “Not Plugged in”.

This problem is seen in certain hardware and occurs because of a timing issue during audio initialization. Microsoft through it’s KB975538, has released an hotfix to fix this issue.

Download Hotfix (File Name: Fix293184)

This Fix applies to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
