How To Fix STOP 0x0000000A Error Message While Hibernating Windows 7 PC?

When you attempt to put your Windows 7 PC into Hibernation mode, you may get a stop error message such as:

STOP: 0x0000000A (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

This is followed by a restart of the computer.

Microsoft has addressed this problem in it’s KB976746. This is a known problem and occurs because of Diskdump.sys driver.  Diskdump.sys driver is responsible for writing memory contents into the Hiberfil.sys file.Due to wrong configuration, the system accesses an invalid memory address and you receive the error message.

Microsoft has released a hotfix to fix this issue.
