Explorer in Windows 10 is enhanced with new handy features, shortcuts, and much needed optimizations for touch. Let’s walk you through the new features in the Windows 10 technical preview’s explorer, compared to Windows 8’s explorer.
1) Add to Favorites
You can now find a easily accessible big shortcut on the top left “Add to Favorites”, which lets you add any folder to the list of your favorites.
It’s now easy to share any item from the explorer even when on touch mode. When you select an item, for instance a image, and go to “Share ” tab, you can see a “Share” button on the top left of the explorer’s window.
Tapping or clicking on it launches a side menu through which you can share it via email services that you have on your computer.
3) “Open Settings” Modern App
Since the birth of Windows, “Control Panel” is the primary application from which you can control settings of your computer. Since Windows 10 is optimized for touch, Microsoft has enhanced the “PC settings” modern interface app with more functionality. Therefore File Explorer now has “Open Settings” shortcut in place of “Control Panel”.
That’s all the new things I have found in the Windows 10 Technical Preview’s File Explorer for now. This posting will be updated as and when we see new features added to the file explorer, probably in the next build. Stay connected with us.
