If you have desktop gadgets installed on your Windows 7/Vista PC, and play lot of games often, then chances are high that you have noticed some gadgets popping up intermittently during game play in full screen mode. Don’t worry, this problem is not related to bad graphics card or something like that, provided your PC behaves normal during other activities. The intermittent gadget display during game play is known to Microsoft, and they have confirmed that this issue exists in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

Unfortunately, there is no permanent fix to the problem as of now, therefore we need to have some kind of workaround fix to overcome the problem. The easiest way around is to turn off the gadgets display before launching the game.

Toggle Windows Gadgets ON/OFF

Before starting the game play, right-click on empty desktop and then select “Show desktop gadgets”. The gadgets will remain hidden. Now you should have no problems of intermittent display of gadgets while playing a game. You can anytime do the same thing to toggle between showing and not showing the gadgets.
