Windows Media Player 12 comes installed with Windows 7 and has some important enhancements.  The features added include support of many common file formats and streaming video. Note that Windows Media Player 12 is available only for Windows 7 Users. Windows XP users still have to stick with Windows Media Player 11.

1. Windows Media Player 12 supports High-Definition video Playback saved in H.264 and AVC formats thus eliminating need of third party programs for playing the HD media. It also supports many other common files formats including 3GP, AAC, AVCHD, MPEG-4, WMV, WMA. AVI, DivX, MOV, and Xvid files.

2. A new “Play To” feature can stream media between devices on a Windows Network. You can select a remote device and send contents of a playlist from your Windows 7 PC to device over the network which means now you can enjoy music or videos in your Home PC anywhere remotely.

3. “Now Playing” mode in WMP 12 shows only the controls you need. So less clutter, more clearer.

4. DVD playback now shows a 15-second video previews.

With all these new features, no doubt WMP12 is your all-in-one Media Player in your Windows 7 PC.
