By default, Live Movie Maker doesn’t allow importing files such as videos over the network. By editing the Windows registry, you can make Movie Maker in Windows 7 to import files over the network. Follow the step-by-step procedure:

1. Start > type regedit.exe and hit enter. This will launch Registry Editor.

2. In the left pane of the Registry Editor, propagate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live\Movie Maker

3. In the right pane, right click an empty area and select “New” > “DWORD (32-bit) Value”
