By default settings, Windows 10 shows one of its beautiful pictures from Windows Spotlight as background image of lock screen. In addition to it, you will also see time and date in the bottom left corner of the screen. Windows Spotlight images are downloaded from internet and are very beautiful images, but they change periodically.
If you feel otherwise and rather like your own images as a slideshow, you can do that. You can also add some extra app information from several apps like calendar, weather, messaging, email, etc and make it more informative if you want it that way. Let’s see how to go about it.
1. Click “Action Center” icon on taskbar and click “All Settings”.
2. Click “Personalization”.
3. Click “Lock screen” in left pane and then click drop-down list of “Background”.
4. Select “Slideshow” and then select the folder that contains your images. You can add a folder that is anywhere in your computer. Make sure to the images have at least the resolution of your display, else the images may get cropped or may be blurry.
5. Scroll down in the same lock screen personalization options and click “Choose an app to show detailed status” or “Choose an app to show quick status” and accordingly choose your desired app info that you want on the lock screen. Best way to choose whether a detailed one or a quick one is to try each one yourselves and lock screen to check which one you like.
