How to Add Run Command in Windows 7

If you are a Windows XP user for a long period and now trying out Windows 7, you could find some commonly used commands missing in Windows 7. One of those popular command is “Run” command in the Windows XP start menu. In Window 7, “Run” is not visible by default. However, you can add it in a simple way. Follow these steps:

1. Right-click on taskbar and select “Properties”.

2. In the “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” window, click on “Start Menu”.

3. Now click “Customize” button.

4. In the “Customize Start Menu” dialog box, scroll down through the list and check “Run command”.

5. Click “OK” .

You are done. Now you can access the Run command in the start menu. Note that even under hidden condition, “Run” is still accessible by using “Windows Key + R” short cut key.

    I performed the above as instructed but after I logoff and log back in, the Run…command is missing again. What makes it go away??
