How To Remove Metadata From Files In Windows 7?
Windows 7 has in-built feature which allows you to remove Metadata stored in Documents and Pictures. Meta data of a file stores information such as author, owner, company, copyright, date, tags, comments, camera model, camera settings and image details in case of pictures, EXIF version etc.This information is helpful to the author or creator of the file. However some times you don’t want to share this private information with the world. In such cases you can scrub a file of unwanted metadata and keep your privacy using Windows 7 ‘Remove Properties and Personal Information’ feature.
How To Delete Metadata of Documents, Photos and Protect Your Privacy?
1. Select the file(s) for which you want to remove meta data.
2. Right-click on the file and select ‘Properties’.
3. Go to the ‘Details’ Tab.

4. Click on ‘Remove Properties and Personal Information’ which can be found at the bottom.
5. In the ‘Remove Properties’ dialog, click ‘Remove the following properties from this file’ and tick all those Properties which you want to delete. In case you want to keep the original copy with all metadata intact, select ‘Create a copy with all possible properties removed’.
Note that properties which do not have check boxes are not editable.

6. Click OK to remove the selected metadata.
