How To Share Internet By Creating WiFi Hotspot In Windows 7
Among many new features in Windows 7, one hidden feature is Wi-Fi Hotspot creation by using which you can instantly share your internet connection with other PCs. Connectify, a free utility converts into laptop into a WiFi hotspot. Which means you can share internet with other computers without a Router!
1. Download Connectify and install it.
2. Run the program.
3. Give a name for your WiFi Hotspot, for example we gave “The Windows Planet”.
4. Enter a 10 or more characters based password in the password field.
5. In the “Internet” drop down list, choose your source of internet. In our case, we are using “High Speed Data”.
6. Click “Start Hotspot” button.
Wait for a while till Connectify creates a hotspot. Now check your other PC or laptop with Wifi adaptor. We checked in our other Windows XP Test PC. In the Wireless Network Connection list, “The Windows Planet” Ad-hoc WEP Computer-to-Computer network appeared. We selected it and instantly got connected with internet connection.
7. The clients connected to your WiFi Adhoc network will be displayed in the Connectify interface. Open Connectify from the taskbar.
