While running your laptop in Battery mode, it’s good to save the battery life for extended usage. Windows 7 has a handy power option right in the taskbar.

While running your Notebook in Battery mode, you can see the the battery life indicator.

Click on the Battery and in the pop-up, select “Power Saver” mode.  Aero effects drains the battery life soon. Hence during Power Saver mode, Windows will remove Aero effects and also does some tweaks in performance to reduce battery consumption.

After Power supply resumes to your laptop, you can switch back to the “Balanced” mode.
