If you connect to your computer using Remote Desktop and don’t want to leave your computer running all the time, then you can configure your Windows PC (including Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7) to wake up from sleep as you start using the Remote Desktop. This means you need to put into Remote PC into Sleep mode and then you can wake it up from sleep mode remotely by configuring it.

Follow step-by-step- guide below:

1. Click “Start” button, right-click on “My Computer” and click on “Manage”.

  • Giancarlo Miranda

    Hey Kristi,

I had the same problem too. That option was grayed out. What I did is go to step 4′s picsture>go to advanced>>Properties section scroll down to Wake Up Capabilites>>Select Magic Packet. Then you can go to step 5. Cheers.
