How To Change Windows 7 Notification Display Time

You might be will aware of the Windows 7 notification dialog boxes displayed in taskbar area. The notification message appears for 5 seconds (by default) and then slowly blurs off. 5 seconds is enough for many users.

But sometimes, 5 seconds may not be enough for some old aged individuals.This default 5 seconds duration can be increased.

We will show you how to do it without the need of editing Windows Registry.

1. Click  Start –> Control Panel and make sure you have set view to “Large Icons” or “Small Icons”. Refer screen-shot below.

2. In the Ease of Access Center settings, scroll down the list and click on “Make it easier to focus on tasks”.

3. In the following settings window, click drop down list in “How long should Windows notification dialog boxes stay open”. Then choose the time you want Windows to display notifications. You can choose from various presets like 5.0, 7.0, 15.0, 30.0, 1 minutes, and 5 minutes.

4. Click “OK” to save the changes you have made.

That’s it. Windows 7 notifications will now be displayed till the time you have chosen.
